RNJ Strategies is a Washington policy and legislative strategy firm led by attorney and strategist Rebecca Johnson.

About Rebecca Johnson

Rebecca Johnson is an attorney and policy strategist with more than 18 years of experience working on policy, legislation, budgets and advocacy in Washington State.

Rebecca began lobbying in Olympia in 2008 as Director of Government Affairs for the Washington State Labor Council. Since 2013, she has advised local governments, labor unions, statewide coalitions, nonprofit organizations and advocacy organizations on budget and policy priorities and legislative strategy.

Her work includes policy development, legislative and budget strategy, legal and policy research, coalition planning, negotiation, political analysis and executive counsel. She advises organizational leaders and their government affairs teams, providing additional experience, research, analysis and strategic guidance as they set priorities, evaluate options, prepare for negotiations and key meetings, and decide when, where, and how to engage.

Rebecca’s background as a lawyer, organizer and lobbyist gives her a practical understanding of effective policy creation, how and when decisions happen, and what organizations need to do to be effective during the legislative session.
